Elsner Introduces New Wet Wipe Folding Machines

The Elsner ZFV Series of fully automatic folding machines is known for high speed folding of Nonwoven products such as baby wipes, personal hygiene products, industrial-strength wet cloths and other items. The machines in the ZFV Series have been completely redesigned to provide greater accuracy in operation and offer even more versatility in fold styles.

The cut-off knife is now servo controlled. Servo controls are also now used for stack separating and on elevators for stack lowering to adjust for stack height. Cut length is also now servo controlled. All mechanical changeovers for product size or pile height have been eliminated. The electronically controlled servo systems provide easier set up, repeatability and exceptional accuracy to assure quality finished product.

The new ZFV Series allows for a wider range of fold styles to be made on the machine including "Z", "C" and specialty folds. Cut length is servo controlled with running adjustments for length compensation due to wetting. This offers the ability to provide extremely accurate product lengths. Product cut lengths can be selected in any increments between 3.5" (89mm) and 10.5" (267mm).

The ZFV Series converts web widths from 20" to 80" (508 to 2032mm) to virtually any cut length and fold size. Production rates depend on machine width and the number of lanes being run. Production rates can exceed 6000 pieces per minute on the wider machines with multiple lanes.

The conveyor and stacking station delivers up to 100 stacks of finished product per minute. The operator has complete information on the central console for product counts, web speed, production rate, wetting saturation rate and other data. An end of the line tub loader may also be added for additional versatility. Stainless steel is used extensively on the folder and tub loader.
