Laser Welder produces high-speed, crack-free welds.

April 19, 2004 - Suited for use with aluminum alloys, LW300AL is capable of seam weld speeds up to 40 mm/sec with weld penetration to 600 µ or more. Unit couples laser power into smaller fiber to achieve smaller spot diameters and higher power density to overcome reflective characteristics of aluminum and achieve absorption phase of metal. Features include real-time power feedback, power ramping, and pulse shaping.

Unitek Miyachi Introduces New High Speed Aluminum Laser Welder

MONROVIA, CA – April 1, 2004 – Unitek Miyachi is pleased to announce the release of its new LW300AL laser welder designed to significantly increase welding speed and achieve deeper penetration in laser-weldable aluminum alloys; crack-free welds are attainable with weld speeds up to 3 times faster than conventional laser welding methods.

This high-tech laser is capable of seam weld speeds of up to 40mm per second and with weld penetration of up to 600µ or more. At the heart of this advanced laser technology is Unitek Miyachi Corporation's novel approach: coupling more laser power into a smaller fiber to achieve smaller spot diameters and higher power density to overcome the reflective characteristics of aluminum and achieve the absorption phase of the metal.

Together with the Real Time Power Feedback, Power Ramping and Pulse Shaping features of Unitek Miyachi's A Series Nd:YAG lasers, LW300AL is the perfect solution for welding aluminum!

Unitek Miyachi manufactures a comprehensive range of pulsed Nd:YAG laser welders and markers with average output power from 5W to 600W, and peak welding power of 1.5kW to 10kW. The company also provides both standard and custom workstation systems with CDRH Class I enclosures, multi-axis motion control, vibration isolation, inert gas glovebox systems, CCTV vision for inspection and vision-assisted motion, laser control software, and a wide range of standard laser welding beam delivery components and accessories. Applications Development and Design for Weldability services are available at no charge for assessing weld feasibility. Unitek Miyachi is located at 1820 S. Myrtle Ave., Monrovia, CA 91016.
