Audiovox Expands In Dash Mobile Theater Line Up

Las Vegas NV – January 2004 -- Audiovox, the recognized leader in rear seat entertainment, turned its attention to the front seat market with the expansion of its in-dash mobile theater line-up. The company entered the market last year with the introduction of the PAV-8000D, a motorized, slide-down detachable-face DIN with AM/FM/DVD/CD player; the PAV-9, an AM/FM/7-inch screen unit with the companion PAV-6CDP six-disc CD Changer; and PAV-7, a motorized slide-out-and-up 7-inch screen model. “Now, we are ready to introduce the most complete all-in-one system in Mobile Theater from Audiovox, the PAV-2000DTV, ” said Tom Malone, Senior VP Sales, of Audiovox Electronics Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX).

One of the most significant features of the PAV-2000DTV is its two Audio/Video Inputs and two Video outputs to run additional screens. The PAV-2000DTV can drive an Audiovox Navigation system (DVD or CD-ROM) and display the mapping on the screen, while playing a DVD in the head unit and sending it to a back-seat screen (either an Overhead or headrest), all while passengers are listening to a different audio source through the factory speakers. “This is the system that truly has something for everyone,” said Malone.

The PAV-2000DTV is an in-dash, single DIN head unit that incorporates an AM/FM tuner with a DVD/CD player, a 7-inch motorized out-and-up screen, a UHF/VHF TV tuner and 50 watts x 4, plus 35 watts x 1 for the center channel. This unit has built-in Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 and, therefore, offers users two Optical Digital outputs, plus 6-channel Analog Line Outputs. MSRP: $1500.00.
