Komatsu's G-Series Straight Side Press Provides Highest Stroke Rates and Fastest Stopping Times

Komatsu has introduced a general-purpose mechanical press ideal for forming and blanking that features the highest stroke speed and range in its class. It features full tie-rod construction, making it one of the most stable and accurate presses on the market. A multiple disc hydraulic clutch and brake offers high stroke rates and fast stop times for improved productivity.

The G-Series, with an operating range of 220 to 1100 tons, is capable of running at 150 strokes per minute. Stroke range is from 3.9" up to 24", providing a wide range of capability, especially for progressive, transfer and manual-die applications.

The tie-rod construction has hydraulic tie rod nuts for excellent rigidity and press accuracy for all G- Series models. Its bolster thickness exceeds JIC standards, and adds to the machine's stability. The press control unit's display is fully digital, and offers procedural guidance for specific press functions. Digital display of the crank angle and electronic angle detectors provide increased accuracy, for operation. Load monitors continuously check loads in all press operations, including blanking, bending and drawing.

The G-Series features extra wide windows that are capable of handling wider materials for coil-fed, progressive or transfer applications. A unique center drive design combined with hardened and ground helical gears with splined connections delivers maximum press power under even severe workloads.

The G-Series is available in three configurations: Eccentric Motion/Single Gear Reduction for a constant slide velocity; Eccentric Motion/Double Gear Reduction that increases the torque for heavier loads; and a Link Motion./Double Gear Reduction unit that offers 50% more torque in the work cycle while reducing the "touch speed" at the bottom of the stroke. All Komatsu presses are equipped with a hydraulic overload protector that prevents.
