February 19, 2004 - Lockback Pocket Knives are AUS8 stainless steel, hardened to 58-89 Rc. Drop point models come in blade lengths of 2¼, 2½, 2 3/8, and 2¾ in. Sheepfoot models are offered in blade lengths of 2 3/8 and 2 5/8 in. The 2¼ and 2½ in. drop point knives feature brushed aluminum handle, while 2 3/8 and 2¾ in. drop-point knives and 2 sheepfoot knives have impact-resistant nylon-resin handle with rubber insert. Reversible thumb stud on all handles allows one-handed opening.

Klein Tools Introduces Six Lockback Pocket Knives


CHICAGO, IL - February 2004 - Klein Tools has added six lightweight lockback pocket knives to its line of professional hand tools. The new knives - four with drop-point blades and two with sheepfoot blades - expand the company's offering of pocket knives and knife sharpening tools.

All of the Klein® lockback knives feature blades made of the finest AUS8 stainless steel, hardened to 58-59 Rc. The premium-quality blades offer superior edge holding, and all lock in the open position.

Drop point knives are available in four blade lengths: 2-1/4"(Cat. No. 44000), 2-1/2" (Cat. No. 44001), 2-3/8" (Cat. No. 44002) and 2-3/4" (Cat. No. 44003). The sheepfoot knives are offered with blade lengths of 2-3/8" (Cat. No. 44004) and 2-5/8" (Cat. No. 44005).

The 2-1/4" and 2-1/2" drop point knives feature a brushed aluminum handle that is slim, stylish and comfortable. The 2-1/2" knife also includes a stainless steel pocket/belt clip for easy access. The 2-3/8" and 2-3/4" drop-point knives and the two sheepfoot knives have an impact-resistant nylon-resin handle with rubber insert. A reversible thumb stud on all of the handles allows easy, one-handed opening.

The dimensions and weights of the new lockback knives are as follows: drop-point knives - 2-1/4" blade (3-1/8" overall length when closed; weighs 1.4 oz.); 2-1/2" blade (3-1/2" overall length when closed; weighs 2.5 oz.); 2-3/8" blade (3-1/2" overall length when closed; weighs 1.4 oz.); 2-3/4" blade (4-1/8" overall length when closed; weighs 2.1 oz.), and sheepfoot knives - 2-3/8" blade (3-1/2" overall length when closed; weighs 1.4 oz.); 2-5/8" blade (4-1/8" overall length when closed; weighs 2.4 oz.).
