Combination of 4-cell or 8-cell battery with Series X40 Extended Life Battery provides additional 3.5 hr of charge time. Combination with Series X4 UltraBase Dock provides one-touch desktop expansion.

· ThinkPad X40 Series 4-Cell Li-Ion Battery
A small, lightweight system battery that can replace the
original system battery or be swapped in as a spare. This 4-cell
battery has an output of 14.4 V and can be recharged in 3.5 to 6
hours depending on the ThinkPad system usage.
· ThinkPad X40 Series 8-Cell Li-Ion Battery
A larger capacity, rechargeable system battery that can replace
the original system battery or be swapped in as a spare. Eight cells provides double the capacity of the ThinkPad X40 Series 4-Cell Li-Ion Battery. This battery contains eight cells with an output of 14.4 V and can be recharged in 4.3 to 12 hours depending on the ThinkPad system usage.
· ThinkPad X40 Series Extended Life Battery
This rechargeable battery is specifically designed for use as a
second battery attached to the ThinkPad X40 Series. The battery
contains four cells, which produce an output of 14.4 V dc (nominal). It will add up to an additional 3.5 hours of charge time, depending on the ThinkPad system usage. The ThinkPad X40 Series Extended Life Battery is used in addition to the X40 system battery. When combined with the ThinkPad X40 Series 4-Cell or 8-Cell Li-Ion Battery, you can use your ThinkPad unplugged for an additional 3.5 hours on selected models. Using a second ThinkPad battery can extend your unplugged computing time to reduce your dependency on power outlets.

Partner your ThinkPad X40 Series with the ThinkPad X4 UltraBase
Dock for greater flexibility and more features. Choose the
ThinkPad X4 UltraBase Dock for convenient, one touch, desktop
expansion at your desk, or attach the ThinkPad X4 UltraBase Dock
to take it with you in your travels. This option adds an Ultraslim Bay device bay that you can use with the ThinkPad accessories of your choice. It also provides cable management, key lock security, and port replication. The ThinkPad X4 UltraBase Dock transforms the ThinkPad X40 Series into a full-function notebook complete with additional speakers, an
Ultrabayä Slim device bay, power pass through, three USB
