Mapei’s Mapelastic™ HPG Offers Novel Solution for Waterproofing and Crack Isolation

Deerfield Beach, Florida – The movement of moisture into sub-surfaces of structures can cause swelling, wood rot, leaks and even mold growth. MAPEI, leading manufacturer of advanced systems for flooring installation and concrete restoration, has improved the capabilities of waterproofing and crack isolation for concrete surfaces with Mapelastic HPG. This high-performance grade waterproofing membrane was developed to provide a unique degree of flexibility that prevents the transfer of cracks through the membrane and into the tile or stone above it. The result for the contractor can be the difference between a successful installation and a costly repair.

“MAPEI’s technical expertise has enabled us to provide our customers with a product that has superior characteristics from many points of view,” says Kica Loliyong, Product Manager for MAPEI Tile and Stone Installation Systems. He adds, “Mapelastic HPG is an easy-to-use, creamy fluid that can be applied in a very thin layer with a trowel, brush, or roller. In addition to the flexibility of Mapelastic HPG, it is a quality green product since it meets all the requirements for VOC (volatile organic compounds) compliance. It also incorporates our BioBlock™ antimicrobial protection, which inhibits the growth of mold and mildew.” Mapelastic HPG definitely meets the demand for higher performance in today’s shortened construction cycle.
