New Stellar™ Quick Delivery Hot Runner System Ideal for Miniature Plastic Parts
Cost-effective D-M-E hot runners designed for small parts with tight center-to-center distances; extended 3-year warranty now offered
January 2004 – D-M-E introduces a new quick-delivery program for Stellar Hot Runner Systems. A choice of options meets varying project requirements and time demands. Stellar 1 features 4-, 8- and 16-drop multi-nozzle assemblies (MNAs) shipped in 3 - 5 working days. Stellar 2 offers 4-, 8- and 16-drop MNA package systems with standard nozzle plate thickness that ship in 5 working days. Stellar 3 provides 4-, 8- and 16-drop MNA package systems with custom nozzle plate thicknesses that ship in 10 working days. In addition, D-M-E now offers a 3-year, leak-proof warranty on all Stellar package systems.
Competitively priced Stellar™ Hot Runner Systems are ideal for precision micromolding applications. Designed for use in mold bases with tight center-to-center distances, the externally heated Stellar™ hot runner system works well with commodity and engineering grade resins in many high-cavitation applications, including electrical/electronic, medical and cosmetic packaging. Stellar hot runners offer unique flexibility in molding various small part sizes, especially when combined with a Master Unit Die (MUD) quick-change frame and insert system.
Stellar nozzles feature a front-loaded design for the tips, heaters and thermocouples. This front-load capability maximizes uptime by enabling quick access with the mold in the press. High reliability and longevity are ensured with mini-tubular nozzle heaters, thereby reducing maintenance costs.
The modular nozzle bodies are interchangeable and can be attached to a manifold by either threaded or compression connections. Standardized multi-nozzle assemblies (MNAs) accept threaded nozzles. Custom applications use compression-style nozzle connections.
A wide variety of MNAs is available in standardized configurations of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16 drops. MNAs are flow balanced and can be used either as standalone systems or underneath custom manifolds.
Stellar systems can be configured for Master Unit Die quick-change mold systems. The turnkey hot half system is bolted onto the MUD frame. A secondary parting line position is used to separate the hot runner system from the “A” plate, enabling quick changes to take place in less than five minutes.
The D-M-E Applications Engineering Team assists with application analysis and solutions ranging from manifold and components to turnkey hot half systems. As with all D-M-E hot runner systems, customer satisfaction is 100% guaranteed.
