TISCOR Takes its BACKTRACK Asset Tracking Software to the Next Level

Enhanced application offers increased data security, new printer compatibility

SAN DIEGO, Calif., December 1, 2003—TISCOR, an innovator in mobile workforce automation software systems and a leading provider of total facility management solutions, today announced the release of its enhanced asset tracking software application called BACKTRACK 4.45.04. The new security features, such as the ability to specify if certain users can add or delete a record, provide facilities with an even greater capability to track, record and account for the location of tangible assets.

BACKTRACK can be used to track virtually any type of item or process, including tools, equipment, files and documents. The system is used by companies such as Lucent Technologies to track computer parts, and Microsoft to locate lab tests.

TISCOR, a subsidiary of Brady Corporation (NYSE:BRC), announced in May 2003 that it had assumed responsibility for the product, which was developed by Strandware and marketed by Teklynx International of Eau Claire, Wis. TISCOR stated that it would develop, market and provide technical support for BACKTRACK, and utilize its 21-year mobile software development expertise to expand BACKTRACK’s capabilities including the integration of the latest in mobile hand-held computer technology. The enhancement is the first effort toward expanding BACKTRACK’s capabilities to provide an indispensable tool that meets the industry’s asset tracking needs.

“We’re excited to roll out the first phase of enhancements to the BACKTRACK product, and are looking forward to offering facilities yet another solution to increase their accountability and productivity efforts,” said Chip Rumis, TISCOR’s Vice President and General Manager.

The following enhancements have been added to the BACKTRACK software application:

Field-Level Security Enhancements

• Facility managers can specify if a specific user can add or delete a record, increasing the level of data security by limiting user access to certain information

• Managers can specify if a specific user can view a field in the program, update the field while performing an add function, and update the field while performing an edit function

Application Login Options

• Users are now presented with options for requiring a User ID and Password upon start up

Enhanced Archive

• Users are now given the option to archive a specific transaction or not

Label Matrix Enhancements

The following label printers were added to the application’s label designer:

• Brady BP-1244

• Brady BP-1344

• Brady 200MVP

• Brady 300MVP

BACKTRACK is certified to be used with the Compsee Apex II, Compsee Apex III, Dolphin 7200, Symbol PDT 3100, and Unitech PT600 hand-held devices. The software is also compatible with many other mobile devices. The enhanced product is also now compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
