J.W. Miller Introduces SMT Ferrite Chip Bead Array

Featuring Four in One Packaging for Space Saving Efficiencies

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Nov. 10, 2003 - J.W. Miller Magnetics introduces the PMA Series of SMT Multilayer Ferrite Chip Bead Arrays designed for high performance EMI suppression in multiple-line circuits. The new PMA Series features four ferrite beads in a single package, which allows handling of four separate lines simultaneously, providing maximum space saving economies.

The device’s small size, just 3.2 mm (L) x 1.6mm (W) x 0.9mm (D), makes it especially suited for miniature telecommunication devices and portable computer equipment. Applications include cell phones, pagers, hand-held organizers, high-frequency wireless communication devices, notebook computers, printers, network cards, industrial electronics, and entertainment devices.

Exhibiting high reliability and stability, the PMA Series incorporates multilayer construction and magnetically shielded circuits to prevent coupling and ensure optimal signal integrity. Performance characteristics include impedance range of 30 to 1000 ohms, DC current range of 100 to 350mA, and an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C. Terminals are solder coated for wave and reflow soldering.

The PMA Series Ferrite Chip Bead Arrays, offered in Type L for low frequency and Type H for high frequency applications, are available in tape and reel packaging (3,000 per reel) and priced from $0.025 in production quantities. Delivery is 4-6 weeks.

J.W. Miller offers a full line of high-quality surface-mount and through-hole coils, chokes, inductors and transformers for short run or high volume production requirements and maintains a large inventory of standard components for quick delivery. Engineering assistance, product samples and custom designs are always available. J.W. Miller products can be purchased through the company’s global network of distributors and manufacturer’s representatives (see the web site for locations). For more information: J.W. Miller, 306 E.
