New Bosch 1/2-inch Dual Torque Hammer Drill Offers The Longest Life in its Class

Mt. Prospect, Ill., November 6, 2003 - Incorporating the most advanced and durable hammer technologies available, Bosch has launched one of its most durable hammer drills ever, the 1199VSR 1/2-inch Dual Torque Hammer Drill.

Whether working in concrete, brick, mortar, wood or steel, the new 1199VSR offers skilled professionals the long lasting durability they need. In fact, through internal endurance testing, the new Bosch unit proved to significantly outlast all the competition in overall life and still continued to perform after the others failed.

One new feature on the 1199VSR, in particular, helps it outlast the competition; a Bosch patented rotating brush plate. A rotating brush plate not only allows the tool to offer equal power in forward and reverse for backing out bound-up bits, but it also greatly extends the overall life of the brushes. This means a longer lasting tool that will save time and money.

Powered by a Bosch-built 8.5 Amp motor, the 1199VSR offers professionals the highest RPM and most powerful motor in its class. With a dual mode selector, rotation-only and hammer drill settings, and a two-speed gearbox for high-speed or high-torque applications, the tool performs at 0-1,100/3,000 RPM and 0-18,000/48,000 BPM. With all the power and punch necessary, any professional can complete their task quickly and efficiently.

As the most versatile tool on the market, simple bit changes give the 1199VSR the ability to drill in an array of materials. This hammer drill can handle capacities up to 3/4-inch in concrete, 1/2-inch in steel and 1-1/2-inches in wood. The 1199VSR is perfect for drilling holes for Tapcon(tm), Redi-Drive(tm), or any type of other anchor and fastening solution.

Additional features designed to help professionals work more efficiently include the Bosch anti-rotation mechanism, an integrated clutch to help minimize torque reaction, a Bosch patented cord turret with 38-degrees of movement for added flexibility and reduced cord wear, and a 1/2-inch heavy-duty three-jaw chuck built to last in the most demanding applications.

A 360-degree auxiliary handle with built-in quick-release depth gauge allows professionals to drill countless holes at the same depth with exceptional ease. A variable-speed trigger and ambidextrous "Lock-On" button also make the tool simple to control. Finally, 12-feet of power cord offers professional users added reach and convenience.

Each 1199VSR 1/2-inch Dual Torque Hammer Drill comes complete with a 360-degree auxiliary handle and depth gauge, while the 1199VSRK also includes a heavy duty carrying case.

Other Bosch Hammer Drills & Accessories

The new 1199VSR is the latest addition to a broad line of corded and cordless hammer drills:

• 13624 24-volt 1/2-inch Brute ToughTM Hammer Drill/Driver

• 13618 18-volt 1/2-inch Brute Tough Hammer Drill/Driver

• 13614 14-volt 1/2-inch Brute Tough Hammer Drill/Driver

• 12524-03 24-volt 1/2-inch Brute Tough In-line Hammer Drill/Driver

• 1194AVSR(K) 1/2-inch Dual Torque Hammer Drill

Bosch also offers a full line of round shank hammer drill bits named Blue Graniteâ„¢. Available in eight, six and five packs, the line ranges from 1/8 to 1 -inch in diameter with an overall length ranging from 3 to 12 -inches. Ideal for concrete, brick and masonry, each bits' perfectly "On-Center" ground diamond tip offers fast starts while the U-Flute design removes debris quickly to increase drilling speed.
