Four-Cylinder Engine suits off-highway equipment.

Perkins 1100 Series Electropak Makes North American Debut

Mossville, Ill., Oct. 8 -- Perkins Engines, a leading supplier of diesel power to the power generation market, has unveiled its 1100 Series ElectropaK engines for the North American market.

Aimed at broadening the Perkins offering in the electric power sector, the first two from a family of five 1100 Series ElectropaKs are the 1104C-44TAG1 and the 1104C-44TAG2. Perkins' 1100 Series is the company's premium emissions compliant platform and is available in three, four and six cylinder configurations.

Not only does the 1100 Series provide an emissions compliant solution, the engines have been designed to offer benefits in the key areas of productivity, refinement and cost of ownership. Whole ranges of engineering changes have been made including a fundamental redesign of the cylinder block to create an advanced "open-top deck" structure that radically reduces transmitted noise.

The two models currently available are four cylinder turbocharged and air-to-air intercooled units which address the popular 60 Hz standby market nodes of 80 and 100 kWe and the 50 Hz prime power nodes of 80 and 100 kVA.

The increase in per cylinder capacity to 1.1 liters, plus aggressive development of the combustion system, has yielded impressive results throughout the power range. The addition of air-to-air charge cooling on the 80 and 100 kVA models has enabled Perkins to offer six-cylinder power from a four cylinder package. Additionally, customers have the added convenience of a true three and four cylinder family with commonality of hook-up points to simplify the installation task, plus the benefits of 500 hour service intervals and a two year warranty plan.

Perkins Engines Company Limited is the world's leading supplier of off-highway diesel and gas engines in the 4 – 2000 kW (5 – 2600 hp) market. Perkins' key strength is its ability to tailor engines precisely to meet customers' requirements. More than 300,000 engines are manufactured every year -- that's one every minute -- to 21,000 different specifications.

That is why over 1000 major international OEMs in the construction, agricultural, power generation, materials handling, and defense markets choose Perkins to provide their power. Whatever the requirement Perkins has the solution, backed by support from one of the world's largest and most sophisticated networks of 4000 dealers and distributors in 140 countries. Today over 15 million pieces of equipment have benefited from Perkins power - our credentials speak for themselves.
