Linear Drive Assemblies offer remote stroke adjustment.
October 20, 2003 - Drive head stroke length on Amacoil/Uhing Model RG linear drive assemblies adjusts via optional remote control knobs located outside of pillow block end supports at end of stop rods. Turning knobs causes end stops to move apart or together, determining drive head reversal points and setting stroke length. Systems provide up to 800 lb of axial thrust and travel speeds to 13 ft/sec at constant RPMs over distances up to 16 ft.

Remote Control for Linear Drive Stroke Length Adjustment Improves Efficiency, Enhances Operator Safety
Aston, PA, October, 2003 -- The drive head stroke length on Amacoil/Uhing Model RG linear drive assemblies may now be adjusted using optional remote control knobs located outside of the pillow block end supports, at the end of the stop rods. Turning the knobs causes the end stops to move apart or together. The position of the end stops determines the drive head reversal points thereby setting the stroke length.
Operators need not adjust any other controls in order to quickly change and fine tune stroke length. The process may be accomplished while the system is in operation which helps streamline production processes and improve efficiency. Operator safety is enhanced because the control knobs are located on the outside of the assembly supports, away from moving parts. The stop rods with control knobs may be extended to facilitate designs where access to the end stops is restricted, for example, where the drive assembly is inside an enclosure or behind a control panel.
Amacoil/Uhing rolling ring linear drive assemblies are available in 9 sizes (15 mm to 80 mm) to meet varying axial thrust and payload requirements. The drives are used in machines requiring a backlash-free reciprocating motion component such as material handling systems, winding machines, spraying assemblies, converting equipment, measuring systems and more.
Amacoil linear drive systems provide up to 800 lbs. of axial thrust. Depending on the size of the drive, travel speed may be up to 13 ft./sec. at constant RPMs, over distances of up 16 feet (max.). Selectable features and accessories include automatic reversal, variable pitch, load carriers, shaft collars for holding spools secure, delayed reversal, "dwell" capability, and more.
