3M(tm) 8-Inch Radial Bristle Brush Making a Big(ger) Splash

St. Paul, Minn. (Oct. 9, 2003) - The first ripples were created by 9/16" and 3/4" discs in the Jewelry industry. Then, the 2" and 3" discs caused waves in Wood markets. Now, 3M has developed an 8-inch Scotch-Brite(tm) Radial Bristle Brush that is making a big splash in metalworking, for conformable cleaning, finishing and deburring.

Patented mineral-filled plastic bristles give this brush an aggressive cut rate and consistent performance along with outstanding conformability. This combination is highly desirable in industries that deburr and finish curved or irregular parts, remove weld burn/discoloration, and clean mild corrosion, paint and rust.

This 8" brush is larger, wider and more aggressive than rest of the Scotch-Brite bristle brush line. It is highly suitable for heavy-duty industrial applications due to its large surface area, one-inch width, and high concentration of 3M(tm) Cubitron(tm) Abrasive Grain. Used on backstands, bench motors and straight shaft tools, these brushes are available in six different grades (36 - 400) that leave a course satin to pre-polish finish.

One of the other great benefits of Scotch-Brite(tm) Radial Bristle Brushes is improved safety over comparable wire brushes, since there are no flying wires. And this brush can be used without abrasive chemicals, compounds, rouges or pastes, eliminating the exposure to hazardous vapors and the waste disposal issues associated with using those products.

Field tests have already proven wildly successful in applications for automotive and aerospace repair, medical instruments, and builders hardware manufacturers. Aggressive performance and long life are proving the 8-inch Scotch-Brite(tm) Radial Bristle Brush a superior alternative to wire brushes and other traditional abrasives.
