New Flow Conditioner Guards Analyzers from Liquid Damage
A new flow conditioner, designed to effectively remove liquids and particulates during gas sampling operations, has been introduced by Welker Engineering of Sugar Land, TX.
The new instrument, named the "Guardian," gives double protection by combining two popular and proven Welker products – the Automatic Liquid Shut-Off (ALS) and the Liquid Eliminator (LE) – to provide a strong defense for analytical instruments. In operation, the gas sample enters a specially designed concavity where free liquids and aerosols are flushed through the bottom and drained off, while the conditioned gas flows through a membrane separator to the analyzer. Any liquid that might get by the membrane forces a small ball (manufactured to exacting specifications) to rise and shut off the flow of liquid slugs that would otherwise flood analyzers – saving them from liquid damage and contamination.
At 2-1/4" wide by 4-1/2" tall and weighing only 2.2 lbs, the Guardian is compact enough to fit in the palm of the hand. It installs quickly and easily into chromatograph, calorimeter, moisture analyzer and stack sampling systems. 316 Stainless Steel construction gives the new flow conditioner long life and superior resistance against corrosion.
