2-Channel Hand-Held Data Acquisition Recorder Features Real-Time 5.7" Color Touch-Screen DisplayA powerful new data acquisition recorder introduced by Astro-Med, Inc. offers compact, hand-held design, 5.7-inch color real-time display for waveform viewing and intuitive touch-screen control, Compact Flash memory, and an integral 3-inch thermal printer for printing real-time and captured data. Designated the Dash 2EZ, the unit can record two channels at a sample rate of 10 kHz per channel while displaying waveforms on the high resolution customizable display.
Designed for maintenance and troubleshooting applications, the hand-held Dash 2EZ, with its high impact polycarbonate case, is rugged enough for the most rigorous environments. The unit is ideally suited for applications such as paper mill maintenance, power monitoring, shock and vibration testing, metal mill maintenance, DC drive monitoring, and non-destructive testing, to name a few.
The Dash 2EZ is equipped with a 5.7-inch display with easy touch-screen control and real-time data viewing and analysis. The high-resolution display provides remarkable clarity, and is fully customizable, allowing channels to be viewed side-by-side or overlapped for measuring phase relationships. A numeric datalogger function provides a simultaneous digital readout of waveform data. The user can review captured data right on the screen, permitting immediate access to critical information. On-screen cursors provide timing and amplitude information and permit on-the-spot measurements. The touch-screen display and menu driven interface simplify the setup of the Dash 2EZ.
The Dash 2EZ captures data directly to Compact Flash (CF) memory cards at sample rates up to 10 kHz per channel. Using off-the-shelf memory cards, data capture capacity increases as the capacity of available cards increases. Captured data can be viewed on the Dash 2EZ’s color display, and can be compressed or expanded for the most convenient viewing format. For more advanced analysis, simply remove the CF memory card to import data to a PC with a CF card reader.
The Dash 2EZ includes Windows-based AstroVIEW X shareware, allowing data to be reviewed and analyzed on a PC. AstroVIEW X includes zoom, FFT and filtering capability and converts captured data into ASCII, Excel, DADiSP, MathCAD and other popular formats for further analysis.
Isolated, high voltage input modules accept inputs up to 250 VRMS, ideal for power monitoring applications. An isolated DC bridge input module connects to most sensors, strain gages and transducers. Built-in signal processing for each channel allow the user to program lowpass, highpass, notch or RMS filters.
The Dash 2EZ’s built-in 3-inch thermal printer is ideal for printing real-time and captured data. The high resolution printer provides the highest quality strip chart printouts of any handheld system available. The annotation of the printer includes time and date, chart speed, time scale and scaling information on the chart. Grids are printed with waveform data, effectively eliminating paper skew.
