FPSI - A Revolution In InstrumentationThe FPSI 1010 is a new module from Lascar Electronics designed for applications where a simple “GO / NO GO” indication is required. A user defined voltage window is programmed into the FPSI 1010 and these values are stored in non-volatile flash memory. Using a bright bi-color LED, the FPSI 1010 will be green to indicate a “GO” situation and red to indicate “NO-GO”. The voltage window can be set anywhere from 0V to 5V and can be re-programmed as many times as needed.
As well as providing an easy-to-read indication, the FPSI 1010 also has an output pin for each of the 3 states. This allows the user to control external logic circuitry through the FPSI 1010. For example, in an environment where a steady temperature is required, the FPSI 1010, with a suitable sensor, can monitor temperature levels and either heat or cool the environment as needed through the control of external devices. Hysteresis can be user-enabled to avoid chattering at each state and provide more effective control of external circuitry. In addition, the FPSI 1010 can be programmed to indicate solid LED colors or to enter a flashing mode, suitable for all low power applications such as battery monitoring.
Housed in a compact potted LED block and supplied with a panel mount bezel, connection to the 0.4" square module is via 8-way DIL pins. The FPSI 1010 is available immediately at a price of $13.95 ($8.37 in OEM quantities of 250+). A programming module, the FPSI 1010-PROG, is also available to make the programming of OEM quantities even easier.
