September 19, 2003 - Single-column eXpert 450x Tabletop Universal Testing Machine is available as standalone unit with removable digital controller or with MTESWindows Materials Testing System. Load frame can be configured for tension, compression, and bend tests ranging from less than 1 lb to 1,000 lb. Motor/gear packages offer choice of 225 lb and 25 in/min, 700 lb and 7 in/min, and 1,000 lb and 2.2 in/min. Optional neoprene bellows seal kit protects actuator from liquid, dust, or fiber.

ADMET Introduces Innovative Tabletop Universal Testing Machine

Features removable controller, horizontal and vertical operation, protection against dust/liquids and various load-speed capacities

NORWOOD, Mass. – Sept. 9, 2003 – ADMET Inc., a provider of integrated materials testing systems, today introduced the eXpert 450x tabletop universal testing machine. The single-column testing machine features a modular design that enables it to be configured for a variety of applications. Available as a standalone machine with a digital controller or with ADMET’s MTESTWindows Materials Testing System, the load frame can be configured for tension, compression and bend tests ranging from less than 1lb to 1,000 lb.

ADMET’s eXpert 450x offers unique features:

Removable digital controller – By enabling users to remove and relocate the controller from the base, ADMET facilitates testing materials in wet or dusty/abrasive environments that may damage the electronics.

Actuator bellows seal kit – The eXpert 450x, with a top-mounted actuator, accepts an optional neoprene bellows seal kit that completely protects the actuator from liquid, dust or fiber infiltration. This feature substantially reduces maintenance and maintains accuracy in harsh environments. This contrasts with typical unprotected or track-mounted “accordion” bellows on load frames that allow infiltration.

Horizontal operation – Once the controller has been removed from the base, the eXpert 450x can be operated in a horizontal position. This offers users greater flexibility in positioning and testing materials.

Several load-speed ranges – The eXpert 450x is offered with three different motor/gear packages that affect the load capacity and maximum speed of the machine. A choice of 225 lb and 25 in/min, 700 lb and 7 in/min and 1,000 lb and 2.2 in/min is available.
