New MCB Series Cross Ventilation Cartridge Dust Collector Provides Improved Serviceability and Quietest Operation in Industry

CINCINNATI, OH – September 15, 2003 – United Air Specialists, Inc. (UAS) introduces a new, completely self-contained dust collection system that offers easy service and installation and a 34% larger breathing area for workers versus previous models – all in a modular, space saving unit that cuts noise levels in half.

The MCB Series Cross Ventilation Cartridge Dust Collector – a stand-alone unit usually used in combination with a containment booth – creates cross draft ventilation to eliminate dust, fumes and other contaminates in a workstation. Typical applications range from abrasive blasting to wood sanding, welding and metal grinding. It is available in either 6-foot or 9-foot widths that can be used singularly or in any combination to easily adapt to the needs of specific applications. Both standard flow and high flow models are available in either width.

The design of the MCB Series Cross Ventilation Cartridge Dust Collector solves many of the problems plant managers regularly encounter with other dust collection systems.

• The lowest sound levels: Offering the industry’s quietest environmental control booth, the MCB unit uses an enclosed pulse cleaning system that reduces sound levels up to 50% more than competitive models.

• Freedom of movement: Since there are no obstructions from source captures, workers can perform their jobs without fume arms, hoods, or other barriers that can prevent a safe environment.

• Easy installation and inspection: Requiring no duct work, fewer assembly modules, and less electrical hookups and motors, the MCB unit is simple to install. Plus, it requires no rear access — making inspection easy and optimizing floor space.

• Fewer cartridge change-outs: Using computational fluid dynamics, UAS engineers have developed an advanced cleaning system that extends cartridge filter life.

• Reduced utility costs: A superior louver door design ensures optimal airflow across a workstation — translating into reduced system losses and energy requirements.

Each unit also comes standard with aluminum pull-out drawers that allow for large capacity dust storage and easy dust removal. The MCB unit is the only one of its kind with every component electrostatically powder coated for added durability and prevention of fading and chalking. The MCB unit comes with a ten-year warranty from United Air Specialists.

A variety of options and accessories are also available for the MCB unit, currently available through UAS’s network of representatives. For more information on UAS, the MCB unit and a complete list of representatives, visit the UAS web site at http://www.uasinc.com.
