Indicating Desiccant Environmentally-Safe and Effective

A new, environmentally friendly indicating desiccant that contains no cobalt chloride (a heavy metal) and has a high water adsorption capacity for industrial, medical, and laboratory applications where moisture control is critical is being introduced by Sphinx Adsorbents, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts.

Sphinx Indicating Silica Gel Desiccant changes color from yellow to green as it adsorbs up to 35% of its own weight in moisture and, unlike cobalt chloride, is biologically harmless. Capable of being regenerated and fully reactivated by heating it to between 270°F and 320°F, this environmentally-safe desiccant is available in bulk or packaged to customer specification.

Providing a uniform and linear change of indicator color, Sphinx Indicating Silica Gel Desiccant is offered in drums, cans, pails, and in custom configured cartridge dryers or drying tubes, and is not subject to SARA Section 313. It has high bulk density of 49 lbs./ft³, >45 lbs. crush strength, low abrasion, and can replace electronic dew point indicators and humidity indicating cards.

Sphinx Indicating Silica Gel Desiccant is priced according to packaging and quantity. Literature, samples, and quotations are available on request.
