Eurotherm, Action Instruments Announces New, Field Configurable Bridge/Strain Gauge Input, Isolating Signal Conditioner with TouchCALâ„¢ Technology, WV Series Model WV448

SAN DIEGO, CA – August 14, 2003 - Eurotherm, Action Instruments group announces the immediate availability of the new WV Series model WV448, bridge or strain gauge input, isolating signal conditioner with TouchCAL™ technology. This high density, field configurable, DIN rail mount device accepts bridge/strain gauge input and provides a proportional, selectable DC output.

Model WV448 is powered by a flexible 9 to 30 V DC and is field configurable via DIP switches for bridge/strain gauge inputs from ±5mV to ±200mV. The excitation voltage range is 1 to 10VDC @ 120mA. The outputs can be field configured for DC signal ranges of: 0-10V, 0-20mA, or 4-20mA. All of these ranges have zero and span adjustability of up to 95% of range via pushbutton. This outstanding flexibility ensures that the device is available off-the-shelf, just when you need it, thereby reducing your inventory carrying costs.

TouchCALâ„¢ technology, a standard feature on the WV448, replaces the mechanical and thermal variability of potentiometers with the electronic stability of a microprocessor. This enables up to 95% adjustment of zero and span and carries with it a string of benefits. It provides a reliable, digitally stable circuit ensuring better long-term performance and reliability. Calibration is as quick and easy as inputting the desired maximum and minimum signal levels and pressing a button to store the values in non-volatile memory.

With the addition of the optional WVC16, WebView Communications Interface, the WV448 input signal can be viewed over the user’s company intranet. The communications link also provides the ability to calibrate the unit remotely. The WV448 is supported by a LIFETIME WARRANTY.
