The problem: Diesel fuel Cetane Engine Numbers have been declining in recent years. Many are lower than typical (low 40's or less).
The affects: A low Cetane Number affects fuel combustion. The lower the Cetane Engine Number, the harder a vehicle is to start due to ignition delay, less power is produced, rougher engine operation is experienced and excessive smoke stack emissions will result.
