The problem: Diesel fuel Cetane Engine Numbers have been declining in recent years. Many are lower than typical (low 40's or less).
The affects: A low Cetane Number affects fuel combustion. The lower the Cetane Engine Number, the harder a vehicle is to start due to ignition delay, less power is produced, rougher engine operation is experienced and excessive smoke stack emissions will result. What can be done to alleviate these problems?
The answer: Amalgamated Inc., a custom-blender of fuel enhancement chemicals, has added AMAL-CIA-2000 Cetane Improver (2-ethyl-hexyl-nitrate) to its product-line. It is the most widely used chemical for increasing the Engine Cetane. This additive has been technically documented to improve ignition time and engine starting ability and reduce or eliminate exhaust smoke.
AMAL-CIA-2000 Cetane Improver is available in bulk, totes, 55-gallon drums and 5-gallon cans. Company contact is Gary Pipenger.
