Abresist Kalmetall® W Hard Overlay Welded Steel Linings Provide Cost-effective Protection Against Abrasion and Impact

Urbana, IN - KALMETALL® W hard overlay welded steel linings from Abresist Corporation provide cost-effective protection against abrasion, impact, and high temperatures. The pre-engineered linings can be installed into existing steel structures or designed as a low weight, self-supporting structure. Designed for specific applications, KALMETALL W is ideal for use in bunkers, mills, chutes, dust pipes, separators, screens, fan linings and blades, cyclones, and others.

KALMETALL W combines a strong steel base composed of ASTM A-36 carbon steel or alloy plates with a hard overlay welded chromium carbide protective layer. The steel base ranges in thickness from 3/16" (4.8 mm) to 1/4" (6.3 mm) with other sizes available. Standard KALMETALL W alloy plates measure 48" x 96" (1219 x 2438 mm) and 60" x 120" (1524 x 3048 mm).

The wear protective layer on KALMETALL W is an integral part of the structure and is composed of a C-Cr-Fe system with primary chromium carbides. The wear protective layer is available in a variety of different qualities, thickness, and dimensions.

Various fastening systems are used with KALMETALL W linings. They include plug welding, rear welding to the basic body, stud welding of screw-type fasteners, counter sunk rings, and suspended systems. Customized components are a specialty.
