New WindJet® Air Knife from Spraying Systems Co.® Delivers Superior Dry-Off Performance in a Complete, Customizable Package
WHEATON, IL--Spraying Systems Co.®, the world’s leading manufacturer of spray nozzles and accessories, has developed a new, advanced air knife product offering. This exciting new package will make dry-off more controlled, more efficient and more reliable.
The new WindJet® Air Knife, the latest addition to Spraying Systems Co. WindJet line, has many features that make dry-off applications more successful and cost effective. The biggest development is a unique protruding leading edge that extends 1/8” beyond the air slot along the length of the knife. Because of this pronounced edge, the flow of air is directed out of the knife in a straight stream. This leads to an air stream that retains its integrity in a more controlled manner exiting the slot and maintains it further from the knife.
The benefit is clear— a uniform, high-volume, constant air stream along the entire knife length ensures no spotting or blotching for a higher quality, consistent dry-off process. The air knife comes in two air slot sizes, .040” for a higher impact air stream and .060” for a higher air flow. Available knife lengths are 6”, 12”, 18”, 24”, 30” and 36”. Custom lengths can also be produced.
Spraying Systems Co. has put together complete WindJet Air Knife drying packages. Each fully customized package consists of the appropriate length and number of WindJet Air Knives. Supplied air is generated by industry-leading Gast® regenerative blower assemblies complete with: pressure relief valve, pressure gauge, inlet air filter, fittings and a convenient mounting adapter for flexible or rigid tubing. Packages are differentiated by the horsepower size of the included Gast blower. Available sizes are 5, 10, 15 and 30 HP. Several accessories are available as well, including: mounting brackets, mufflers, flexible and/or rigid tubing, elbows, motor starters, couplings, clamps and manifolds.
Each package delivers the same important user benefits:
• A complete solution, fully customized and from a single supplier
• Unique, high-performance WindJet Air Knives
• Low-maintenance blower
• Clean, heated air
• Energy-efficient air source, resulting in a low operating cost
• Low operating noise, requiring no need of a sound enclosure
• Ease of installation
Many industries can benefit from the superior performance of Spraying Systems Co. air knife packages with typical applications including food and beverage, high tech, automotive, medical devices, pharmaceutical, metal forming and fabrication, and others.
Spraying Systems Co. recently published WindJet Air Knife Drying Package bulletin, #543, outlines all product benefits and performance characteristics.
