ALSIP, ILLINOIS (July 2003)…Ferro-Pak® 40MPI (Multi-Purpose Inhibitor) is specifically designed by corrosion protection specialist Cromwell-Phoenix, Inc. to inhibit corrosion in copper, brass, copper alloys, bronze and aluminum as well as some ferrous metals. With anticorrosion chemicals, 40MPI is available in rolls or sheets and is typically used as a protective wrap.

At 40-lbs., 40MPI provides improved packaging strength for standard applications. In plain kraft formulations Cromwell also offers a 35MPI (economy grade) and 60MPI for demanding applications. Cromwell-Phoenix, Inc. rounds out its MPI family with 7 other products including polycoated kraft papers (40PCMPI & 60PCMPI), a 3-ply paper-PE-paper (35-35MPI), a reinforced paper/PE (SCRIM MPI), STEELWRAP MPI, a kraft/woven PE (WOVEN MPI), and finally MPI in 1” & 2” square chipboard emitter’s (MPI CHIPS).

Cromwell’s MPI product family is one segment of their complete VCI offering. VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging such as 40MPI protects metals from vapor and contact corrosive influences. To fit the right VCI product to the customer’s application Cromwell-Phoenix’s employs a 3-step process to evaluate current packaging methods, analyze the metal for corrosion potential, and recommend the best package on a case-by-case basis.
