Swivel Chute Distributes Stamping Scrap

There's only one thing that stamping facilities can make as fast as forming parts, and that's scrap and trim-off pieces. Keeping plants from becoming bogged down with this scrap is the job of Mayfran International and its lineup of customized stamping scrap handling systems, including its versatile swivel chute for efficient distribution and discharge of scrap in applications where space is limited. The swivel chute, located at the discharge end of the scrap conveyor, allows scrap from a single conveyor to be directed to multiple, alternate locations, such as scrap hoppers, roll-off containers, truck trailers or rail cars placed on either side of the system. The Mayfran swivel chute increases press uptime by permitting uninterrupted scrap flow even when a single container becomes filled and needs to be changed out...the motorized chute is simply pivoted to the second, empty receptacle.

A single swivel discharge chute can take the place of several chute configurations or conveyor branch lines in approximately no more space than a conventional stationary chute would require. A Mayfran swivel chute installation will typically include a support/maintenance platform with ladder, walkway grating and railing, and can be wired to and controlled from the main conveyor system console. Although utilizing standardized component concepts and construction features, each swivel chute is custom engineered and fabricated to match specific application requirements and handling loads.

In addition to conveyors and systems for handling stamping scrap, Mayfran International products include machines for chip handling, coolant cleaning and reclamation with equipment from one machine to centralized, total facility systems.
