June 24, 2003 - Series CDA Alternate Cooling Source Dryers provide efficient air treatment when connected to ammonia circuit or chilled water or glycol supply, compressed air piping, and condensate drain line in facility. Capacities range from 75–19,200 scfm at 100 psi. Compressed air pressure dew point of 38°F is achieved with ammonia circuit and Model CDAN dryer. PDP that is 5–7°F above inlet water/glycol temperature is achieved with CDAW models and chilled water or glycol supply.

Alternative Cooling Source Dryers Take Advantage of Excess Cooling Energy
WEST CHESTER, Pennsylvania, 15 May 2003 - ZEKS Compressed Air Solutions® (ZEKS), introduces an entirely new line of compressed air dryers:
Manufacturing and processing operators that have on-site cooling energy can use it to remove moisture, solid contaminants and oil vapor from compressed air with a CDA Alternate Cooling Source Dryer from ZEKS. The dryers provide efficient air treatment when connected to the ammonia circuit or chilled water or glycol supply in a facility. The dryers consume no electricity and require connection to only the cooling energy source, compressed air piping, and condensate drain line.
ZEKS offers two distinct CDA designs: Ammonia (CDAN) and Water/Glycol (CDAW), in models with compressed air flow capacities from 75-19,200 scfm at 100 psi. Compressed air pressure dew point (PDP) of 38°F is achieved with an ammonia circuit and CDAN dryer while a PDP that is 5°- 7°F above the inlet water/glycol temperature is achieved with CDAW models and a chilled water or glycol supply. CDA dryer operation is simple: the operator's cooling energy supply is used to chill compressed air as it passes through stainless steel heat exchangers in the dryer. This causes moisture in the air to condense and form droplets that can be separated from the air stream and then be collected and discharged from the dryer through a pneumatic drain. Gauges are conveniently located to enable monitoring of the cooling source and display of the compressed air conditions. Selection criteria for CDA dryers is similar to that for conventional refrigerated air dryers with compressed air treatment dependent upon volume and condition of the alternate cooling source.
CDA dryers include patented CFX® stainless steel heat exchangers that are manufactured by ZEKS and have been field-proven in a broad range of compressed air applications. They provide corrosion resistance, industry-leading low pressure drop, and durability for long, maintenance-free service life and optimized efficiency, of the compressed air system.
CDA dryers offer these advantages to compressed air users who have excess cooling capacity:
• Optimizes Utilization of Cooling Energy Supply
• Consumes No Additional Electrical Energy
• Air Drying In Corrosion-Resistant Stainless Steel CFX® Heat Exchangers
• Industry-Leading Low Pressure Drop For Compressed Air System Efficiency
• Uncomplicated Sizing and Installation
