Welding Control monitors secondary voltage measurements.
June 13, 2003 - STA Series AC control has secondary voltage monitoring feature so user can measure RMS or PEAK voltage during weld. Unit allows measurement of last cycle of weld to provide measurement of final resistance during last cycle. Built-in monitor keeps track of all electrical variables that reflect changes in resistance from weld to weld. Data is sent via RS-485 for each weld and can be collected from multiple controls in network.

Secondary Voltage Monitoring Available on Miyachi AC Resistance Welding Controls
MONROVIA, CA - June 5, 2003 - Miyachi is pleased to announce the availability of secondary voltage monitoring on its STA Series AC controls. As voltage changes can be associated with resistance changes during the weld, secondary voltage monitoring provides users with helpful quality indicators, lowering the incidence of rejected parts. The STA controls allow the user to program a low energy current pulse prior to the main welding pulse. The voltage during this first pulse is monitored, and limits are applied, which then allow the unit to detect missing parts, material changes or misalignment, or nut/projection incorrect or upside down.
The STA voltage monitor can be set to measure either RMS or PEAK voltage during the weld. An advanced setting allows the monitor to measure just the last cycle of the weld providing a more focused measurement reflecting the final resistance during the last cycle.
Finally, the STA's built-in monitor keeps track of all electrical variables which reflect the changes in resistance from weld to weld. Data is sent via RS-485 for every weld and can be collected from multiple controls in a network.
