ACP ThinManager Version 2.4
Alpharetta, GA - May 16, 2003 - ACP (Automation Control Products, Alpharetta, GA) is now shipping the newest version of their Thin Client management and enabling software, ThinManager 2.4. This latest version adds even more features designed to enhance Microsoft's Terminal Services operating systems (Windows 2000 or Windows 2003 Server) for the industrial market. Some of the benefits of the new version:
Configuration Wizards - ThinManager makes Microsoft Terminal Services and Thin Client technology simple to install and manage in a factory setting, and the addition of computer directed wizards continues that trend. Just like the configuration aids found in many Windows programs, users can now walk through any number of complex configuration tasks without the fear of missing an important step.
New Tree view of Terminal Servers and connected clients - With the new Terminal Server Connection Status display found in ThinManager 2.4 it is easy to see exactly which Windows Terminal Server is hosting each Thin Client. As clients log off one server and on to another the new tree will enable identification of all server to client relationships. This is especially useful in the event of a server failure where connected clients have automatically switched to a backup server.
Multiple monitoring connections to redundant ThinManager Servers - Users of ThinManager 2.4 will be able to monitor and control all of their attached Thin Clients from multiple locations on the network. Now any PC or Thin Client can monitor the status of the entire system.
Additional Features
Support for new Hardware - With this new version ACP will begin enabling several terminals with increased video resolution and color depth capability. Users running Citrix MetaFrame will have a selection of industrial ready Thin Clients capable of displaying the same screens as currently available only on office grade Thin Clients.
ThinManager Configuration Import and Export - Multiple ThinManager Servers are easily configured with the export and import of the configuration database. Along with this feature comes the ability to backup and restore the ThinManager configuration.
Assign names to Servers - With ThinManager 2.4, even users who are not using a network with DNS can assign names to the ThinManager Servers and Terminal Servers on the network.
Create lists of available ThinManager Servers and Terminal Servers - ThinManager 2.4 allows easy and automatic creation of available server lists to cut down on confusion during initial system configuration and updates.
