LED System offers alternative to neon signage.
May 6, 2003 - Border Tube high brightness LED system provides energy savings up to 85% over neon options. Tube System provides appearance of neon for outdoor signage applications.
System includes pre-manufactured interior and exterior corners. One outdoor-rated power supply can power 64 ft of tube. Product is UL and Class II rated and comes in red, green, blue, and amber.

GELcore to create a border tube solution to coincide with its popular Tetra™ Channel Lighting System. GELcore responded with its new Border Tube System - a robust, high brightness LED
solution which provides an energy savings up to 85 percent over standard neon. The new product, which will be available in the near future, offers proven Tetra reliability with the benefits of a border tube system.
"Our new Border Tube System is ideal for a retailer looking for the appearance of neon, without the added expense and maintenance issues," said Paul Southard, GELcore's Program Manager. "The product is a complete solution for a number of outdoor signage applications."
In addition to the product's aesthetic benefits, it also offers a number of advantages in the maintenance department. GELcore's Border Tube System includes pre-manufactured corners (interior and exterior), allowing for quick and simple installation. All cut pieces can be utilized, eliminating scrap material. Plus, 64 feet can be supported by only one outdoor-rated power supply - allowing for nearly maintenance-free operation.
For additional reliability, the product is both UL and Class II Rated, and is comprised of UV and impact-resistant material. When it is launched, a variety of colors will be offered, including red, green, blue and amber.
