Graphalloy® Pillow Blocks Withstand High Temperature and Wash Down Environments

For immediate release

Yonkers, NY April 7, 2003...FDA accepted GRAPHALLOY pillow blocks and flanges have proven ideal for continuous, high production food manufacturing operations in ovens, conveyors, cookers, mixers and packaging equipment where users experience less downtime and reduced costs. In addition, GRAPHALLOY easily withstands high-pressure steam cleaning and solvent operations without damage or performance reduction. GRAPHALLOY, a graphite-metal alloy, pillow block and flanges eliminate oil and grease contamination, never need lubrication, have received FDA acceptance, routinely operate in high temperatures (+1000°F) and can be immersed in liquids with causing contamination.

GRAPHALLOY pillow block and flange housing assemblies are furnished in styles that interchange with standard ball bearing assemblies for easy installation. Available in over 100 grades with specific properties to suit a wide range of operating conditions, commonly used GRAPHALLOY materials are Babbitt, Copper and Nickel. GRAPHALLOY bearings maintain their constant low coefficient of friction over their entire operating life and are not subject to seizures, binding or sudden failure.
