Master Chemical Introduces Another S3 Technology* Product
April 3, 2003 (Perrysburg, Ohio) - Master Chemical Corporation is introducing another "S3 Technology*" semisynthetic cutting & grinding fluid.
This new, clean-running, moderate-duty machining and grinding fluid, TRIM® SC410, is a semisynthetic coolant that uses mineral oil free S3 Technology vegetable-derived ester lubricants. It is specially formulated for machining cast iron and for surface and cylindrical grinding of ferrous and nonferrous materials.
TRIM SC410 is extremely clean running, keeping the machine and work environment residue free, even when machining or grinding gray iron. Master Chemical Product Manager Andy Nelson says, "SC410 does an outstanding job on cast iron. Because it's water clear and provides superior cleaning with no foam, it's a great grinding fluid, and a real winner on mill rolls, where cleanliness is so important."
Nelson, who has been in the industry for 25 years, says, "TRIM SC410 is one of the most interesting products I've seen. It seems to do everything well. Customers machining cast iron or grinding ferrous materials are going to be extremely pleased."
Among its many attributes, TRIM SC410 is very low foam. It provides superior sump life and corrosion inhibition for long periods of time without adds - which translates to lower operating costs. Customers report that TRIM SC410 prevents chip clinkering and hot chip hoppers when machining cast iron. And, where graphite is a real problem, TRIM SC410 controls the foam and keeps carbon smut off the machines.
TRIM SC410 is compatible with a wide range of materials, including ferrous, nonferrous and nonmetallic. Since TRIM SC410 is based on vegetable-derived ester technology and contains no mineral oil, it is extremely user and environment friendly. There's no SARA reporting requirement with TRIM SC410. It contains no chlorine or sulfur-based additives, no nitrites, sulfonates, alkyephenol ethoxylates or phenols.
In addition, because they're based on vegetable esters or synthetic oils, products featuring S3 Technology are chemically stable, which means consistent and predictable performance.
Master Chemical expects to add more products to the semisynthetic S3 Technology product group in the coming months. TRIM SC285, a cutting and grinding fluid designed for extreme-pressure (EP) lubricity in drilling, tapping, reaming and form-grinding operations, was introduced in March.
Master Chemical is headquartered in Perrysburg, Ohio, and is a leading supplier of metalworking fluids and recycling equipment. Founded in 1951 by Clyde Sluhan, Master Chemical products are designed to maximize productivity and minimize waste in the metalworking industry, thus improving customer product quality and profitability.
