Software provides 3-tiered lifecycle management

IFS Introduces Three-Tiered Lifecycle Management
CHICAGO, March 3, 2003 - IFS announced a new lifecycle management solution that goes beyond product lifecycle management (PLM) to provide better integration and management of three critical business areas-customers, products, and resources-throughout their lifecycles. The solution, known as 3LM, is an integrated feature of IFS Applications(TM) 2003, the latest version of IFS' component-based suite of business applications. With 3LM, companies can more quickly and easily make business decisions across the entire product value chain, considering such factors as profitability and complete lifecycle support.
"As companies face shorter product lifecycles and an increased demand for product customization, the business software market is beginning to focus on PLM," said IFS North America president Terje Vangbo. "At IFS, we think it's important to also focus on the lifecycles of customers and assets. That's why we have taken the next step and introduced 3LM. It's an integrated lifecycle management solution that provides companies with the data they need to quickly determine which markets to serve, when to enter them, which products to develop, and which human and capital resources to deploy."
IFS' 3LM makes it easier to:
o Retain customers and expand into new markets by predicting customers' needs more accurately and qualifying prospects based on estimated lifetime revenue.
o Improve product development by continuously capturing product requirements from after-sales and service processes and making them available to design groups.
o Decrease production costs by improving asset management from initial investment, through operations, to decommissioning.
