Tiltwatch Indicator Family Monitors Tipping While Shipping
These sensitive label indicators attached to the outside of a shipped package work together with an optional high visibility companion label to warn handlers that the contents should be kept in the upright position. Indicator will show bright red if excessive tipping has occurred. The TILTWATCH(TM) products (TILTWATCH(TM) or TILTWATCH PLUS(TM)) from Shockwatch® may be easily installed and support all quality packing standards. The indicator labels are automatically armed as they are installed, activated if shipments are tilted and leave telltale evidence if tampering is attempted. They may not be rearmed or reset.
Standard TILTWATCH(TM) is calculated to simply warn if a shipment was tilted in excess of 80°(± 5°). TILT WATCH PLUS(TM) indicates exactly "how much" a shipment was tilted. TILTWATCH PLUS(TM) is actually three separate registers in a single indicator unit. One register indicates starting angle. The second register indicates exact angular amount of tilt endured and the third register indicates whether or not the unit was completely overturned. Together the three registers of a TILTWATCH PLUS(TM) indicator unit provide inexpensive 360° tilt monitoring for the entire duration of shipping transit and an unalterable record of damaging excesses.
The combined presence of either indicator label on a shipment with its companion warning label will serve to lower the incidence of rough handling as well as providing documented proof for damage claims when required. All units include a small alert sticker to be placed on the bill-of-lading as a reminder of monitoring. Units are moisture-proof and safe for ocean shipments with varying humidity conditions.
