Surface Mount CCFL High Voltage Inverter Transformer for Consumer Electronic Applications and Liquid Crystal Display

GARDENA, Calif. - Feb. 14, 2003 - J.W. Miller, a leading provider of custom and standard magnetic components, has introduced the new cold cathode fluorescent lamp (CCFL) Inverter
Transformer series in a surface mount package. This device is an integral component used in power supplies for producing the high voltage needed to initiate lamp operation for back-lighting of liquid crystal displays (LCD). Applications are found in notebook and handheld computers, flat panel home entertainment displays, point-of-sale terminals, portable instruments, and automotive and medical monitors.

Key performance characteristics include an operating frequency of 60KHz -/+25 %, operating temperature of 0 to +75°C, and dielectric strength of 1500Vrms. Available in five 6-watt configurations, input voltage selections include 25, 20, 15, 13, or 10.5V with outputs of 1300V, 7OmA. The surface mount package measures 26 x 16.5 x 7.1 mm and features a multi-sectional bobbin constructicn to prevent high voltage breakdown. Transformers are shipped in bulk and priced from $2.09 in
production quantities of 500.

J.W. Miller offers a full line of high-quality surface-mount and through-hole coils, chokes, inductors and transformers for short run or high volume production requirements and maintains a
large inventory of standard components for quick delivery. Engineering assistance, product samples and custom designs are always available. J.W. Miller products can be purchased through
