Recold's New HW Series Fluid Coolers Introduce New, Low Cost Solution for Water Source Heat Pump Market While Featuring Copper Coil Durability

BREA, Calif, - January 27,2003 - Developed expressly for applications using Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHP), Recold introduces the new HW Series line of Fluid Coolers, offering proven performance and maintenance considerations in a low-priced unit. Designed with Recold's copper coil construction, the HW Series will assure long coil life and efficient heat transfer.

Ideal for indoor/outdoor installation, the HW Series features a low RPM forward curved centrifugal forced draft fan, assuring quieter operation and longer service life than other designs, with the ability to handle higher static capacity, such as ducted applications. A characteristically lower profile design and lighter weight offers easier handling and installation. Unlike competitive styles requiring field assembly, which typically address the WSBP market, the HW Series features one-piece, ready-to-install construction, assembled and tested at the factory. Its compact design, employing shorter base rails, and narrower overall housing depth, provides a small footprint, from 31" x 70", depending on capacity.

HW Series capacity ranges from 10 to 200 nominal tons. The unit provides 2 access doors to facilitate service, an optional exterior NEMA starter-control enclosure, an easily accessible fan motor (mounted on fan housing on models up to 50 tons; on base rail on larger units), and an externally accessible pump motor. The HW Series is designed as an answer for the lower cost, dependable performance market, but can be specified with optional equipment.

The HW Series immediately broadens Recold's offering of quality designed and constructed fluid coolers, evaporative condensers and cooling towers, while retaining the high standards of copper coils and inherent quality of construction typical of Recold's industry leading J and M Series.

"We've responded to several requests and market opportunities by developing the HW Series, as it broadens our product line to attract the low-cost market while offering Recold's inherent quality focus, particularly the use of copper coils", said Douglas Vickers, General Manager.

Recold's proprietary Hydrosprayâ„¢ water distribution system provides a 360° spray pattern over the coil, providing a consistent, even spray. Non-clogging nozzles assure effective water coverage and heat transfer. Available in ten (10) model configurations, the HW Series will be the answer for many opportunities.
