Buckhorn Introduces the Citadelâ„¢

The Revolutionary Collapsible Bulk Container for Liquid-type Loads

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: January 2003 -Buckhorn introduces the Citadel™ — the most efficient reusable plastic bulk box for safe transport of bulk fluid materials. The 48"L x 45"W x 47"H collapsible container is the optimal size, capacity, and strength to hold up to 300 gallons or 3,000 lbs. of liquid-type product. Developed to meet the requirements of users throughout the food and material processing industry, the Citadel replaces bulk wooden containers or crates for transport and long-term storage.

With its smooth surfaces and rounded edges, the container prevents product contamination, damage, and worker injury from protruding nails, splinters, and the sharp, metal banding associated with common wooden containers. The Citadel's unique lid design features recessed latches to secure the lid from multiple anchor points, contoured channels to prevent the accumulation of water and debris, and edges that lay flush with the side panels to prevent breakage from impact. When stacking containers, the lid interlocks with the base feet and runners of containers below for secure stacking up to five containers high.

The Citadel optimizes ergonomics to decrease worker injury and cuts product handling labor to improve efficiency:

• Set up and collapse is easy with side panels that lock securely in place for loading product or fold down for compact storage.

• Ergonomic handles facilitate safe, efficient panel movement.

• The panels feature double-wall construction providing a smooth surface on tile interior and exterior for easy cleaning and product protection.

• A variety of ID options are available, including tags, labels, and hot stamping for inventory control and tracking.

Replacing alternative bulk packaging with the Citadel reduces operating costs by lowering transportation expense and eliminating costs of disposal and metal banding. The container efficiently cubes out trailers and railcars to reduce storage and freight costs. Manufactured from FDA-approved high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the Citadel is weather and chemical resistant and 100% recyclable.
