Des-Case(TM) units remove moisture and particulate from wet, dirty air entering industrial equipment reservoirs, allowing only clean, dry air into lubrication system. Desiccant extracts water vapor from air, while microglass pleated filter removes particles down to 1 micron. Hygroscopic Breathers Prevent Lubrication System Contamination
A line of hygroscopic breathers that removes moisture and particulates from the wet, dirty air entering industrial equipment reservoirs such as hydraulic tanks and gear boxes, or large storage and process tanks, is being introduced by Sphinx Adsorbents, Inc. of Springfield, Massachusetts.
Sphinx Des-Case(TM) Hygroscopic Breathers employ a desiccant to extract water vapor from the air and a microglass pleated filter to remove particles down to one micron. Featuring a visual indication of when to change the desiccant, which turns pink when 100% saturated, these self-contained units let only clean, dry air into the lubrication system to prevent contamination.
Available in permanent and disposable configurations and several sizes, Sphinx Des-Case(TM) Hygroscopic Breathers are suitable for a wide range of applications. Benefits of these breathers include increasing oil and oil filter life, reducing abrasive wear, downtime, and repair costs, and eliminating chemical reactions or spoilage to improve equipment performance.
