Lit Release: Cradle/Straightener/Feeder... All In One Space-Saving Unit
Sterling Heights, MI -- Described in a two-page brochure, Sesco Products Group's (SPG) Combination Cradle, Straightener, and Roll Feed Unit (CSF) optimizes stamping press feeding of heavier gauge material while keeping floor space requirements to a minimum. Hands-free loading and threading, and automatic setup are among the unit's other conveniences.
The CSF also is extremely heavy-duty, with the capability to handle a coil weight capacity range of 10,000# to 60,000# and up to 120,000 PSI yield material. Its flexibility allows it to accommodate materials with a thickness range of .040"-.750". Sesco offers CSF units with widths of 12"-76".
A solid steei two-roll coil rest supports and pays off the material. The coil is centered and guided by two adjustable side plates. The individually adjustable side plates assure proper centering of the coil.
The main unit consists of one set of feed rolls, seven straightening rolls, and one set of input threading rolls. A multi-pitch gear train directly drives the upper and lower feed rolls throughout the feeding process. This arrangement is totally enclosed and sealed in a gearbox that runs in oil, ensuring problem-free operation.
A bank-type arrangement allows the operator to position the upper straightening rolls to handle stock with a wide range of thickness. This arrangement also allows for quick and accurate changeover. Handwheel or automatic adjustment is available.
All rolls are hardened, ground, and mounted in anti-friction bearings. A controlled traction satin finish is applied to the input threading rolls and feed rolls to minimize slippage and foreign material buildup.
A coil storage ramp adds to the CSF's safety and efficiency. Other features include edge guide systems, automatic setup features and pass line adjustability.
