Lantech's New "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel Technology Eliminates Common Shrink Packaging Problems

Louisville, KY - Lantech's new "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel features unique technology to ensure uniform distribution of heat - the key to producing attractive, consistent shrink packages. With easy-to-use controls featuring "real time" adjustment of air velocity, air temperature and conveyor speed, and a special ViewWindow™ to monitor the entire tunnel and shrink packaging process, the Lantech "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel allows precise control of the shrink packaging process to eliminate common problems such as dog-ears and wrinkles. In addition, the system is backed by a three year – all component – unlimited cycle "Built Tough" warranty.

Common shrink packaging problems, including dog-ears, bubbles, and burn-outs are eliminated through uniform heat distribution using convection rather than forced air. The distributed convection system gently swirls air around multiple heater elements to blanket the entire package for optimal heat absorption eliminating isolated hot and cold spots which result in an unattractive package. The stainless steel wire belt features an 87% open design for better air flow while eliminating grid marks on packages.

More energy-efficient than forced air systems, the Lantech "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel also features an insulation barrier with tough ABS plastic cladding which is cool to the touch and provides long-term durability. Color-coded operator controls are within one easy-to-reach location making set-up and adjustments quick and easy.

The Lantech "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel is compatible with most commercial shrink films including LDPE, polyolefin, polypropylene, and PVC. In addition, the system was designed with the flexibility to meet the production capabilities of modern automatic L-bar, lap seal, and side seal wrappers.

With a robust welded frame, proven Lantech components, and easily accessible major components, the Lantech "Soft Convection" Shrink Tunnel is engineered for maximum uptime and reliability. The system requires little floor space, operates on standard 230V, 47 amp service and requires no air connection allowing easy location and portability.

Lantech's packaging solutions include semi-automatic and automatic stretch wrapping systems, Lan-ringer® stretch packaging systems, palletizer-stretch wrapper systems, automatic case erectors, shrink wrapping systems, and Lantech-built conveyor and control systems. Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky with manufacturing operations in the US and the Netherlands, Lantech is the world's largest manufacturer of stretch wrapping systems with products sold and serviced through the U.S. and around the world by a network of more than 175 distributor locations.
