Extra Heavy Duty Mobile Boom Crane

The new Self-propelled Mobile Hydraulic Crane is extra heavy duty and looks as if it could pick up a locomotive, announced by ATI in Mentor, Ohio.

The long reach beyond the wheelbase and narrow design makes it accessible in crowded congested areas which are difficult to access with any other equipment.

The unit is all welded steel heavy-duty construction designed for rugged use, yet reasonably priced.

The lifting and telescopic boom functions are hydraulically operated and the system has an overload relief valve built in. The propulsion is heavy-duty industrial battery powered. The crane has power steering and a variable speed drive from 0 to 4 mph. The unit is also equipped with an electro mechanical brake which is automatically engaged whenever the control handle is released.

The wheels are polyurethane to protect the floor, and are equipped with roller bearings for smooth easy mobility. The crane's capacity is 20,000 pounds and similar units are available with capacities starting at 1000 pounds on up.

The steering handle can rotate the drive wheel 90-degrees to the left and right making it very maneuverable. In addition, the narrow overall width, makes it possible to go through a regular man door or down narrow isles.

An optional cable lift is also available so that loads can be lifted and lowered to below ground level into a pit, man hole or basement.

This heavy duty Reversible Boom Cranes is a moderate cost answer to a high cost problem. It offers great material handling versatility, increases efficiency and improves safety.
