KOMET KUB Duon(TM)

KOMET KUB Duon(TM) with exchangeable cutting blades for drilling up to 5 X diameter.

The new KUB Duon(TM) drill takes on the advantages of the successful tooling concept that originated from the KUB Trigon and KUB Quatron indexable insert drills. This new innovative drill concept enables the length to diameter ratio of 5 X D. The effective drill body consists of extremely tough and high strength tool steel that has proven itself time after time as the basic design principle of KUB indexable drill.

At the front of the new drill, it utilizes two tangentially arranged cutting blades with double effective design. The simple and geometrical design of the drill body that utilizes flat and parallel flute surfaces with precision polished periphery allows economical and flexible machining of holes.

A range of basic cutting blade grades and coatings are also available for this new drill. the KUB Duon(TM) inherited technological advantages mainly from stable insert pockets and reliable method of securing inserts with clamping screws. This advantage allows fast and simple exchange of the cutting blades even in a clamped position on the machine. The rigid and stable insert pocket design offers maximum cutting speeds and feed rates. This optimization may also be contributed to the new innovative center cutting geometry without chisel and very short margins.

The new KUB Duon(TM) offers faster machining time and long tool life that will lead to cost reduction in your drilling application.
