Thermopile Head offers 10 KW/cm² damage threshold.

December 12, 2002 - Model 10K-W water-cooled, thermopile surface absorber head measures YAG and CO2 lasers at up to 10,000 W of power. It spreads beam out over large area to avoid damage to thermopile sensor. Unit has 45 mm aperture; 1064 nm, 10.6 µm spectral range; and power range from 200 to 10,000 W. Information is stored in EEROM of detector head and is downloaded when display is turned on, making head plug-and-play ready.

Thermopile Head Features 10KW High Damage Threshold for YAG and CO2 Laser Measurement

Danvers, MA November, 2002...Ophir Optronics, Inc announces the release of a new innovative, high power thermopile surface absorber head, model 10K-W, with a damage threshold of 10KW/cm² power density. The water-cooled high power head is based on a new patent pending principle that spreads the beam out over a large area to avoid damage to the thermopile sensor. The model 10K-W head will measure YAG and C02 lasers at up to 10,000 Watts of power without damage or change in calibration.

The model 10K-W head has a 45mm Aperture, with a 1064nm, 10.6µm Spectral Range and a Power Range from 200W to 10,000 Watts. It can be used with all of the Ophir smart displays - Laserstar, Nova and Orion, as well as the USB interface to PC package.

Ophir thermopile surface absorber heads are spectrally flat from .19um-20um. They have a damage threshold of up to 20 KW/cm². In addition, they offer a wide dynamic range from uW to KW, and a fast response time as short as 1 second. The detector head information is stored in the EEROM of the detector head and is downloaded when the display is turned on, so all heads are plug-and-play ready.
