Two Styles of Bump Caps from MSA Offer Versatility
Pittsburgh, Pa., October 2002—A standard plastic style of bump cap and a "soft" ballpark-style cap with a plastic liner, shown in the enclosed photograph, are now available from MSA to protect wearers from minor bumps.
Both caps are designed for applications in workplaces such as food processing, pest control, meter reading, and automotive repair. They protect the wearer's scalp by reducing exposure to abrasions and lacerations caused by minor bumps to the head. The key word is "minor" bumps. Bump caps are appropriate ONLY for work situations that do NOT require approved head protection.
The durable, high-density polyethylene Bump Cap has perforated sides for cross air ventilation. Available in six bright colors, it's comfortable and easy to clean. Bump Caps can be custom-imprinted in one color, on the front, if desired.
MSA's NEW SofCap™ Hat, based on a universally popular style, is available in six colors. This 100% cotton baseball-type cap with eyelet holes is comfortable, yet the area covered by the plastic liner helps protect against lacerations and scrapes to the scalp. An inner foam pad offers additional comfort.
