October 15, 2002 - Turbo-Separator T10-2-16, featuring bowl rotational speeds of 3,000 rpm, can remove solids down to 2 micron at flow rates up to 26 gpm. It includes removable, self-draining plastic liner for sludge removal. Unit can reclaim up to 95% of captured fluid, and can be used to replace less efficient centrifuges or paper bed filters that become plugged with oil and solids. Turbo-Separator measures 28 x 20 x 34 in. and can be installed in tight spaces.

Centrifuge System Reclaims Oils After Chip Spinning

Sanborn Technologies introduces the Turbo-Separator T10-2-16. It is designed to remove fine solids from coolant or oils after chip spinning or a briquetting process. With a unique mechanical design and bowl rotational speeds of 3,000 RPM, the centrifuge can remove solids down to 2 micron at flow rates up to 26 GPM. It features an easy to clean heavy-duty removable liner for sludge removal. The T10-2 replaces less efficient centrifuges or
paper bed filters and cartridges that can become plugged with oil and solids. Reclaiming up to 95% of the captured fluid, the separator can provide a payback in as little as one year.

The T10-2-16 is designed to retrofit into most existing installations. With dimensions of 28" x 20" x 34" (LWH) the unit can be installed in tight spaces. Integrating the separator
into the reclamation process is easy because the dirty fluid enters a dirty fluid tank by gravity at a minimum height of only 3". An internal feed pump then transfers the fluid into the separator at flow rates up to 26 gpm, and the cleaned fluid is returned under pressure to a clean tank.

Clean-out of the solids from the separator is accomplished quickly with a removable self-draining heavy plastic liner. The process takes less than 3 minutes, and the solids are dry and easy to discard.

Turbo-Separators are in use worldwide on various metal, glass and ceramic applications where removing fine particulate improves product quality during the manufacturing process. Systems are available in a variety of configurations including automatic discharge and with options such as chillers, pumping packages and tanks.
