Elmwood Sensors Transparent Heaters Leave Clear Viewing Area

Heaters Ensure Performance And Readability Down to -40°F For LCDs, Cameras And Other Applications

Pawtucket, Rhode Island - Transparent heaters from Elmwood Sensors, an Invensys Sensor Systems company, provide see-through heating for applications requiring a clear viewing area and wireless design, such as gasoline pumps, surveillance cameras, and liquid crystal display (LCD) instrumentation panels. Optical grade transparent film yields maximum light transmission, from 80% to 95%, depending upon application requirements, with no obstructive elements in the viewing area.

Cold operating environments can slow the response of LCD displays, and also cause condensation to form inside displays, cameras, instrument panels, and on windows, interfering with functionality and visibility. Elmwood transparent heaters ensure performance and readability in environments operating as low as -40°F.

Elmwood Sensors transparent heaters are available in thick-nesses of .007" (.15mm) and can be customized to meet specific application needs. Without relying on wire elements the transparent heaters provide even temperature distribution through customization of design requirements. Elmwood Sensors can also incorporate features such as contrast enhancement filters and anti-glare treatments to further improve display readability. Transparent heaters are easily mounted either in front of or in back of the display via an optically clear adhesive. They also come packaged with a resilient vinyl cover to prevent scratching prior to and during assembly of the final product.

Transparent heaters are used on LCDs on gasoline pumps, automotive display panels, instrument panels of forklifts used in warehouse freezers, and hand-held meters designed for use in harsh environmental conditions. They are ideal for any situation where visual light transmission is important, as well as for EMI/RFI applications.

Elmwood Sensors also offers custom designed control methods to provide a complete heater solution. Thermostats, thermistors, thermocouples, RTDs, thermal fuses and other control devices can be directly integrated into and attached to any heater assembly.

Elmwood Sensors, an Invensys Sensor Systems company, is a leading manufacturer of flexible heaters and temperature control systems for aerospace, appliance, automotive, industrial, medical, and other industries. Elmwood Sensors is ISO 9001 certified, with a Class 1000 clean room. Invensys Sensor Systems develops, designs, manufactures and sells innovative technologies for global markets, in the areas of thermal, speed, position, pressure, sensors and controls, specializing in Total Sensing Solutions.
