Eaton Introduces a New Family of Drawout Medium Voltage Vacuum Circuit Breakers
PITTSBURGH, PA...Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation introduced today its Cutler-Hammer VCP-T drawout medium voltage vacuum circuit breaker family, designed for use in applications where space is a premium, such as mine power centers, portable power substations, drawout breaker switchgear, marine applications, and portable generators.
Available in ratings up to 15kV, VCP-T breakers are 60 percent smaller than comparable breakers and meet ANSI standards for metal-clad circuit breakers. The breakers are available for both ANSI and IEC markets.
"The best features of these drawout breakers is their compact size and integral trip units," explained Jim Benke, engineering manager for the company's Cutler-Hammer MV Switchgear Components. "The VCP-T breakers are considerably smaller and weigh 50 percent less than breakers with similar kV ratings which make them ideal for space/weight sensitive applications."
The new breaker offers one footprint through 15kV and 25kA. The compact design still provides characteristics of true metal-clad circuit breakers, but also offers flexibility often associated with molded-case breakers.
