Flexible Couplings provide dynamic stability.
September 3, 2002 - Zero-backlash, maintenance-free HELI-CALŪ Flexure couplings offer vibration-free, smooth bearing loads, even at misaligned, 5° angular, positions. Machined from single-piece, homogenous materials into curved beam configurations, couplings eliminate need for elastomeric elements such as rubber bushings, spiders, rubber discs, and pads.

Miniature Flexible Couplings Provide Dynamic Stability, Zero Backlash
SANTA MARIA, CA., August 15, 2002-- Miniature, "HELI-CALŪ Flexure," flexible couplings provide dynamic stability and vibration free, smooth bearing loads, even at misaligned positions, e.g., 5° angular. Machined from single piece, homogenous high strength materials into helical (curved beam)
configurations, Helical couplings are said to eliminiate the need for elastomeric elements such as rubber bushings, spiders, rubber discs and pads.
These couplings operate at high speeds and temperatures, transmitting high torque at a constant velocity. There is zero backlash and no maintenance is required.
