September 19, 2002 - ROBOformER® orchestrates movements of loading, intricate bending actions, and unloading using only one controller and software program. Solid modeler and user interface allows solid drawings to be imported/exported and determines optimum bending sequence. Six-axis robot handles up to 176 lbs. Press brake has sheet metal bend length of 122/166 in. and bending force of 117/151 tons, with max bending speed of 47 ipm. ROBOformER accepts sheet up to 120 in. long and 60 in. wide.

New Roboformer® Robotized Bending Cell from Salvagnini Raises Speed, Productivity and Accuracy to New Levels

From idea to finished product at the touch of a button, the ROBOformER is the new way to bend sheet metal products.

HAMILTON, OH (August 13, 2002)—The new ROBOformER® from Salvagnini is the world's only robotic bending cell with advanced, intuitive software to orchestrate the movements of robotic loading, intricate bending actions and unloading — all accomplished with one controller with one program. The ROBOformER can be seen in operation at IMTS 2002 Booth #B6117.

The easy-to-use proprietary software provides instant, real-time management of the robot simply and immediately, and takes speed, productivity, accuracy and safety to a new level.

With one cell, one controller and one programmer, the ROBformER is the solution for low gauge sheet metal bending challenges, taking production from drawing to finished product in about an hour, without stopping the machine. The unique advanced Salvagnini software, uses a solid modeler and specially designed user interface that:

• Allows solid drawings to be imported/exported.

• Manages an advanced tool file that can suggest press set-up solutions.

• Determines the optimum bending sequence.

• Anticipates potential interference and automatically generates optimized robot trajectories, optimized and synchronized press-brake movements, and workpiece loading/unloading.

The 6-axis robot can handle a maximum load of 176 lbs (80 kg) and the press-brake features sheet metal bend length 122/166" (3100/4100 mm) and bending force of 117/151 tons (1050/1350 kN) with a maximum bending speed of 47 ipm (20 mm/s). The ROBOformER accepts incoming sheet up to 120" (3048 MM0 long) and 60" (1524 mm) wide.
