Tonawanda, New York- July, 2002...American Allsafe offers the Silencio® by Hellberg Safety line of wireless 2-way communication and hearing protection which includes the Local. The Local, with a NRR 27 rating, features a built-in 2-way radio which transmits and receives up to two miles clearly. Fourteen channels provides your choice of operation with numerous groups or individuals.
Active listening amplifies warning sounds and signals and allows communication in the vicinity without removing your hearing protection. It also includes VOX (Voice activated) for hands free operation or PTT (Push to Talk) transmission. When you receive a call, automatic muting by 6 dB(A) occurs. It also can connect to other 2-way radios and CD/Walkman radios.
Other features include environmentally friendly rechargeable batteries (included) with 4 hour auto cut off minimizing battery drain, a microphone arm that can be adjusted and cups that can be swung outwards to a resting position around the neck. The Local is also available in Cap Mount models.
